No Choice Equals No Freedom
It's election time again, and I think it's appropriate to talk about what democracy means to me. I would expect the life of a common citizen to be better in a democracy because our voting gives us the power to shape our world to our liking - at least, it's supposed to. So that means that if something is unpopular, we can do away with it.

Who all likes mandatory masks and social distancing? Does anyone think we're better off under these new restrictions? On the other hand, who hates these new laws? Who all wants to put a stop to mandatory masks and social distancing? Probably just about everyone.

Democracy depends on choice. What choice do we have if we want to vote against uptight, paranoid measures against the flu? How does a voter like me express his extreme dissatisfaction with the frigid new society of social distancing, locked borders, and insulting mask laws? Which party wants to answer the people's real needs, instead of distracting us with a bunch of broadcast bullshit? Who is campaigning against the mask? Our democracy needs you.

Sep20/2021 (8:30pm): I thought the election wasn't until tomorrow, so I missed my vote. Still, I read a sad story about a Burnaby girl who suddenly died. She tested negative for COVID, but they want to blame the 'pandemic' anyway. I guess they are desperate for any way they can present this virus as a deadly threat when it sounds like its vaccine has killed more people. People die suddenly and inexplicably all the time, but if it happens now, it's supposed to be because of COVID, even if they test negative. Sigh! I hope there is some dimension out there where lies are impossible. It would sure be a great departure from this world, and would offer hope to honest people.

Is it true that it is illegal under our charter of rights and freedoms to force vaccines on our citizens? If so, then why do I see signs up in some restaurants saying, 'eating inside prohibited unless proof of vaccination shown.'? Does our foreign affairs department know about our rights and freedoms, or are they locking us in our country until we're all vaccinated? And why are some landlords applying duress to get their tenants vaccinated? Is that constitution of ours worth the paper its printed on? While I'm at it, what kind of vaccine involves gene therapy? That's not a vaccine, it's more of a 'treatment' which I thought was reserved for patients who've undergone organ transplants and other such radical surgeries. Now they want to use it on our largely healthy population, and I just know there's more to it than the exaggerated appearance of a 'pandemic' on the corrupt, corporate news.

Special Delivery

Special Delivery I have been following the war, mostly on DW News. Again, I stand firmly with Ukraine. I hope the Ukrainians can stop Putin in his tank tracks, not just for their own sake, but because Poland may be next otherwise. Poland is a NATO country, which would drag my country of Canada into the war, and I don't want to be in a war. Who would want that? We need to avoid that until the last possible moment. But, for what it's worth, I have given some thought to how we might slip those replacement Migs across the Poland-Ukraine border. I suggest we disassemble them and disguise the parts as cleaning equipment, perhaps industrial vacuum cleaners or something. Poetry Can Hurt I've just heard about the Dr Seuss ban and it doesn't upset me at all. I don't read Dr Seuss anymore. As for racially insensitive imagery, if it upsets visible minorities, I give them the benefit of the doubt on it. I'm white, so my eye misses those kinds of details in children's books. But you can tell he ranked the 'whos' above other races. Remember that scene in the Grinch that Stole Christmas where they're all singing 'Gottes Sohn Ist Kommen' and one of the grown-ups picks up little Cindy Loo Who so she can adorn the portrait of the fuehrer with her wreath?
