Truth Is More Important than Stardom
I can't believe someone found my work clothes amusing today. Here I am, minding my own business, being responsible, making sure your grocery stores have stocked shelves, shipping them produce by the ton, breaking my back to load fifty pound units by hand, struggling to fit all the different sizes and weights and compositions onto the same pallet, and someone wants to poke fun at how I look on my way to my job. I told my supervisor about it and he advised me not to let it upset me. He said that's what the little creep wants. So I'm not going to fly into a rage. It's hard for me because I know the source of this disrespect for hard workers. It comes from an irresponsible broadcasting system that lets its lazy, brainless stars suck all the profits and glory from a hard working author - one that cares more about truth than money. It's not just an insult to the author (me), but to all hard workers if the rotten networks and vicious radio stations are going to carry on every day as if they've done nothing wrong. Since youth typically turn to the void of such corrupt commercial broadcasting for every answer to every question, and for every laugh and every tear, their insolence is quite understandable Another message that gets drilled in by the TV and radio is that appearance is more important than substance. If a star does something terribly wrong, it's okay because he's a star, according to our broadcasters. It explains how people were more impressed with frauds who stole my work and received fame and fortune for it than they were with me for creating it. It also explains how youth would be so preoccupied with image that they need to hang around a park and make fashion notes on every unfortunate stranger who passes by. I never actually wanted to be a comedy star, just a humourist. As for any strangers who think I owe them a laugh now, don't hold your breath waiting for it. I would sooner hand you your worst nightmare. And don't wait for me to put commercials on my YouTube account. It's only there to tell the truth. Truth is more important than stardom, and if you don't agree, maybe you just need to sense your mortality. As for me, I'm not going to my grave with a bunch of false prophets as my guide. |
