I Didn't Watch It

I Didn't Watch It
So what is this war about? Do you think it's about President Zelensky? I want to trust this man, and bitterly resent his being compared to known offenders of my copyright, like Saturday Night Live and Tom Hanks. Fuck Tom Hanks and fuck Saturday Night Live. There's a war on and people are getting killed out there. Zelensky is the president of a sovereign state which has been invaded by Russian forces. It would have happened no matter who occupied Zelensky's post. The story is not Zelensky, it is much larger than that. See what happens when a broadcaster like ABC spends all its time image peddling instead of doing real reporting? Now it's all they know how to do, and it is insufficient - at least for my needs. I panned their interview.

On the other hand, DW News's interview with Ukrainian MP Inna Sovsun gave me a clear picture of the current situation. She says that we must adjust our energy consumption to deprive the enemy of oil and natural gas revenues. We all need to move closer to work. We have to do it all at the same time. We need this to happen in Germany. We need the Germans to do this one thing all at the same time. Somehow I can imagine it. Oh well, in my case, it keeps me downtown here, but I'm sure it's better than having to take shelter in the subway.

3:58pm If I may add a few of my own thoughts to this situation's analysis, firstly, when we're looking for Putin's motive, we must steer clear of his language and focus strictly on his actions. He targeted Ukraine before it could join NATO, which indicates his fear of NATO. Therefore, he must be averse to a conflict with NATO. On another point, it is no surprise to me that Ukrainian forces have performed so well on the ground. Besides being highly motivated and well armed, they showed exceptional prowess within the armies of their occupiers in World War Two, usually forming the elite divisions. (March 20/22: They fought effectively in the woods as partisans, as well. Sorry for leaving that out.) My last thought is of the destructive power of the modern mass media. The way Russians trust their news broadcasts right now is rather dismaying. It's like calling it a Nickleback song or a Rolling Stones song when I wrote it, thanks to our wartime media, and it's like calling it a MAD Magazine cartoon when I drew it or calling it a Saturday Night Live sketch or a George Carlin poem when I wrote it, thanks to our wartime media - all meant to raise public morale in 2007, I imagine: for Russians view their army's invasion of Ukraine as some kind of gentle, humanitarian 'exercise', thanks to their own wartime media's public morale raising campaign of 2022.
